Death is a truth that no one can deny. Every person has to face death. After death, a person’s heartbeat stops and eyes close, but apart from this, changes are continuously taking place in his body for the next few hours.
When do doctors declare a person dead?
According to doctors, when a person’s brain stops working and his heart stops beating and the person also stops breathing, then he is considered brain dead. This is what we call death in common language. However, to legally declare a person dead, it is first seen whether the person is able to respond to the brain stem or not. If the person is not successful in responding then he is declared dead.
Changes in the body after death
After the death of a person, all the muscles of his body relax. Which in medical language is called primary flexibility. After this, the person’s eyelids lose their tension and close and start shrinking. His jaw opens and all the joints and parts of his body become very flexible. Due to cardiac arrest, a process called pallor mortin starts inside the dead body for a few minutes, after which the person’s body starts looking pink.

At the time of death, the body temperature of a person is usually 37 degrees Celsius, which starts falling rapidly after death. This process is called algas mortis or death chill. In the first 2 hours this temperature decreases by 2 degrees Celsius and then by 1 degree every hour. Many times, in the process of relaxation of muscles, even feces and urine are released from the dead body. At the same time, between 2 to 6 hours after death, the muscles of the body also start becoming stiff.
